McCann Worldgroup
McCann Worldgroup’s Shanghai offices at Huaihai Plaza were developed through a series of multi-phase workplace projects delivered over a three-year period. The work expanded from an initial commission into a broader effort encompassing multiple floors within the building, supporting the growth and reorganization of several IPG-affiliated business units. Eric Dempsey led the design in collaboration with ADM Design’s Shanghai-based team, working within a fast-paced design-build environment. Each phase responded to evolving organizational needs, including the integration of new divisions and the reconfiguration of existing workspaces. The design approach established a consistent spatial and material language that could be adapted across different teams and brands while maintaining a cohesive identity throughout the offices. Collaborative work areas, focused work zones, and shared support spaces were integrated within a flexible and unified framework. The projects were delivered in close coordination with client stakeholders, consultants, and construction teams. The result is a cohesive workplace environment supporting collaboration, adaptability, and long-term growth across the organization.
